The main island of Nosy Be’s smaller sibling, Sakatia Lodge, is just a short boat trip off Nosy Be which allows more flexible transfers. This close island also accommodates easy access to day trips to the main island to check out the main attractions there.
As you approach Sakatia Lodge from your boat transfer, you will first be greeted by the dense forested mountain which lies adjacent to the lodge. This ‘sacred mountain’ (so-called because it is off limits in terms of the superstitions of the local Malagasy people) commands attention when you’re at Sakatia Lodge.
The lodge owners, Jose and Isabella, make sure your stay is extra comfy. Their son, Jacques, runs the diving centre.

The lodge sleeps 26 people in total. The rooms are clean and simple rooms which are very comfortable but without an air-conditioner in sight.
The restaurant has a circular thatched roof which is open to take advantage of the cooling sea breezes. Watch out for the lemurs when they come down to the bar to feast on mangoes. Relax with an ice-cold beer or cocktails sitting on loungers overlooking the beach.
The change in the name from Nosy Mamiloma to Nosy Sakatia comes from another legend. The lodge has its own Craft boutique.
